Like Father, Like Son

Uncle Loren brought a cool Harley Davidson motorcycle over for Chase last week.  Chase thinks this is really cool.  Daddy decided to bring it into the house so Chase can play with it.  Chase thinks this is great.  He sits on it and watches movies.  He fixes the motorcycle.  He goes riding. He goes riding with his Angry Birds.  (or as he calls it Angry Turd Birds).  And this whole thing made me remember back to when Jeff got his new motorcycle.  This was back in the pre-garage days. And we all know that when you have a new toy you really need to play with it!!

Riding Angry Bird Style!

I was not home this day.  I guess now I know the kinds of things that happen when I'm gone.  To be fair, he had power washed it at the shop before bringing it in the house.  LOL

Happy New Year! It's 2012!

Christmas!

Christmas Day is always so fun.  Santa showes up sometime when everyone is sleeping to drop off presents and eat cookies.  Presents are opened. Cinnamon rolls are eaten.  Candy is eaten.  A giant mess of wrapping paper is made. Everyone has fun

Christmas Eve

I love Christmas.  I like for my kiddos to experience the magic of Christmas.  Christmas Eve we load up in the car and drive around looking at pretty Christmas lights.  We return home to put on our Christmas jammies and leave cookies out for Santa.  Chase was very into Santa this year. He was super excited to visit the big man. Everytime he saw him on TV or in a book he would be excited exclaiming "Santa Claus!"  I love it!  I remember back when Mackenzy was this excited on Christmas Eve. Leaving out the cookies and then waking up early on Christmas morning to check and see if Santa had eaten them. Such wonderful memories that I hope he remembers and loves as much as I do.  He gets to help make new memories of this magic for his brother and sister.  Christmas has a new kind of magic for him, but I hope it is just as wonderful.

Ready to go look at Christmas lights!

Chase and Gabby Visit Santa!

Christmas is fast approaching and Chase has developed a love of Santa.  We have spent a lot of time talking about Santa.  Chase knows that Santa "brings kids presents".  When I asked Chase if he wanted to go see Santa he was ready to walk out the door!  So, we got ready to go see Santa at his stop at the mall.  Chase was in awe of him.  He walked right up and sat on his lap.  When asked what he wants for Christmas Chase says "Santa bring me candy."  Oh, I love the simple requests of these little ones.  Gabby had to go see Santa as well.  She was unphased by all the commotion and slept the entire time.  I'm sure Santa did not mind!

Santa stopped by the Harley Davidson shop.  Chase had to go visit him there, too!

Our Daughter

On November 22 at 7:51 am Gabriella made her debut weighing 8 lbs 3 oz.  We could not be more happy that she is here and arrived healthy.  These first few weeks have been a blur of sleepless nights and cuddling baby.  She is such a sweet baby!  We are happy to welcome her to our family!

On our way to the hospital at 5 am!

Random Teenager Quotes

One of the things I love best about my kids is that they make me laugh.  Especially when things just come out wrong.

Random quotes from my teenager:

Me: "My friend is picking me up at 5:15 for a party"
Mackenzy: "Soooo....we are not eating dinner tonight?"
Me: "Well, that all depends.  Do you think you or daddy can operate the stove?"
Mackenzy: "Ya, I guess I could flip a pancake and make some eggs."

Mackenzy: "We started watching the Matrix in History class today."
Me: "What does that have to do with history?"
Mackenzy: "We have been studying playdough"
Me: "The blue kind or the green kind?"

Mackenzy: Spazzing out.
Jeff: "Could you take it down a notch"
Mackenzy: "Fine. I'll just be in a bad mood then"  Proceeds to pretend to be grumpy.
Me: Laughing histarically.
Mackenzy: "Ya, that's real funny"
Me: "It totally is!"
Mackenzy: "You're pregnant.  You think everything is funny."

We were at the doctor's office discussing a sweatshirt he wants.
Mackenzy: "I wish we still had Old Navy.  I want a new sweatshirt just like the one I have."
Me: "Ya, when I get home I should check online to see if they have it.  Hey, you could look now if you want."
Mackenzy: Gets up and looks out the window.
Me:  "I ment look online, not out the window for a store! Use your ipod!"
Mackenzy: "Oh, that makes more sense."

Me: "Mackenzy, you should call your Papa and tell him Happy Birthday"
Mackenzy: "Ok."
A few days later...
Me: "Did you ever call Papa to tell him Happy Birthday?"
Mackenzy: "Darn it! I forgot.  I'll wait till the next Jewish holiday and call him."
Me: "ok? He's not Jewish, though"
Mackenzy: "I know."
